If you are looking for sewing thread that is very resistant to heat, numerous acids, and beta, gamma, and X-rays, NOMEX® spinning fiber is a good choice. The basis for these attributes is an aromatic polyamide produced by DuPont called meta-aramid. This material is considered to be very heat-resistant, melt-resistant, flame-retardant, and self-extinguishing. In addition to its high temperature resistance, the sewing thread is also highly resistant to acids and radiation.
In addition to sewing thread and sewing yarn , Kupfer's range includes three types of NOMEX spun fiber®: the strengths Nm 20/3, Nm 40/3 and Nm 70/3. While NOMEX®: the strength Nm 20/3 is offered in 2,000m., NOMEX®: the strength Nm 40/3 is available in 400 m and 4,000 m. NOMEX®: Nm 70/3 is available in lengths of 700m., 5,000m. and 7,000m. 12 colors are available in the strength 70/3, availability for all other strengths on request. The range of applications for NOMEX spun fiber® extends from the shoe industry and protective clothing to filters and electrical insulation.
