NOMEX Filament® is made of the material meta-aramid, which the DuPont company has been producing since 1967. Originally developed for the production of racing suits, the outstanding product properties are high heat resistance, excellent chemical resistance and good insensitivity to various rays and acids. The elongation at break is around 35 percent. The decomposition temperature is around 370 degrees. NOMEX Filament® can withstand temperatures of 160-180 degrees permanently. The tear strength is specified as 40 cN/tex. 

The sewing thread specialist Kupfer offers the sewing thread NOMEX Filament® with No. 20/3. The thickness of the thread corresponds to the product name - namely Nm 20/3. A needle size of 120-140 is recommended for processing the filament. 1,000 m spools are available. Customers can request the special sewing thread in the desired color. Since NOMEX Filament® is very robust and dimensionally stable, it is suitable for applications with high material requirements. Examples include filters and protective clothing. This sewing thread can also be offered with a water-repellent finish.
