Indestructible Even for Heavy Usage!

POLY 40 is a hard-wearing thread made of 100% polyester; it is tearresistant, colourfast against chlorine, resistant against high water temperatures and bleaching agents. With these outstanding properties, this yarn is recommended for use on workwear, jeans, caps, mats, horse blankets, etc. Due to its smoothness, it is easy to process and the choice of colours leaves nothing to be desired.

Neon colours available in 8 different shades. Neon colours glow under black light (UV light).

Note:

  • The dye lots are continuously numbered by us and marked by a stamp on our cartons.
  • Please take care that you always process embroidery threads of the same dye lot for one embroidery order.

Care instructions:

POLY is boil, light and chlorine fast. However, we recommend to observe the following care instructions.

  • Washing

While chlorine or other optial brighteners will not cause discoloration they will however affect the yarn fiber. We therefore recommend all embroidered articles to be washed with mild detergents. If washed by hand, ample water should be used to allow the goods to move freely. Bot of the above apply in particular to embroidered items that are washed for the first time. It is most important to thoroughly rinse the embroidery before wringing or dry spinning. Embroidered clothing should never be left lying in a damp or wet pile.

  • Dry cleaning – stain removal

POLY may be dry cleaned.

The stain removers should not contain any bleaching agents or colour removers if they come into direct contact with the embroidery. It is necessary to rinse the embroidery after stain removal.

  • Ironing

All the embroideries shall be ironed on the reverse side or in-between two cloths.

Usage tipps:

POLY comes from the same house as SULKY® and therefore has the same colour numbers; however, a "6" has been placed in front of the number for POLY for better differentiation.

100 % polyester can never have the sleekness of SULKY® (100 % viscose) or COTTY (100 % cotton).

If breaks do occur, despite the high resistance to tears, or if loops form and if you can not prevent this by adjusting the thread tension, use SILIKON. Add a drop of Silikon every two hours to the wheel which regulates thread tension.

The rule of thumb is:

  • Lettering sizes of over 4 mm can be embroidered using thread count 40 and needle count 75 - needle count 60 may improve the quality – however:
  • 4 mm lettering sizes are embroidered in a definitely nicer way using thread count 60 and needle count 60 – when using the embroidery program in thread count 40.
  • 3 mm lettering sizes must be embroidered using thread count 60 and needle count 60! The embroidery program needs to be punched especially for thread count 60.
  • Lettering sizes of less than 3 mm can hardly be done anyway.
